Artistic exhibition in the streets of Assas

The "Assadins artists' collective" is organizing for the third consecutive year the "Caladesques", an artistic exhibition of paintings, drawings and photographs. This takes place in the streets of Casernes and Calade, as well as in adjoining private gardens, on Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 September. In case of bad weather (strong wind or rain), the event takes place in the Saint Martial church. 19 artists from Assas, Hérault and the Eastern Pyrenees present their works to the public in the medieval setting of the Assadines streets. Varied works, from figurative to manga, from surrealism to abstract, from travel portraits to life scenes. The association 'Jeu de mots SBS' offers a series of poems interpreting the feeling of the works, with wandering readings on the different stands. A book trail embellishes the entire exhibition circuit, reading points are installed there. The vernissage begins on Saturday 20th at 12pm on the square in front of the medieval tower, accompanied by the songs of the "choir of Assas". On Sunday 21 at 12pm, a choral concert is offered on the forecourt of the church by the group "Lo Cocut", a vocal group of men singing various traditional songs in Occitan, guaranteed good mood. A refreshment bar held in front of the tower by 'Café pointu' and 'Le comptoir d'Assas' is present throughout this weekend. Informations Free.
