This year the European Heritage Days are celebrated with the theme of Living heritage. The Suodinosasto of the Old Mine in Outokumpu will host the Fabric of pictures -art exhibition 01.06 - 31.08.2023 as a part of the European Heritage Days programme. The art exhibition weaves a joyful tapestry where visual art meets craft art. In this tapestry loops, stitches and various kinds of fibres are in seamless dialogue with experimental and traditional brush strokes together with other visual art methods. In the Fabric of pictures -exhibition the past and the present meet open-mindedly in materials and techniques. The participating artists have chosen their favourite subjects, techniques and materials and they have used them according to their own preferences. As a result, the visitor can enjoy exploring a diverse and multidimensional exhibition. One of the main principles of the exhibition is the utilization of various kinds of recycled materials in the works of art. The artists participating in the exhibition are  Lea Hyvärinen, Helka Kettunen, Eija Kokko, Seija Korpelainen, Elvi Mujunen, Helena Puhakka, Ritva Rouvinen and Lea Räsänen.
