Fethard Heritage Day Festival
This Year's family friendly Fethard Heritage Day Festival will take place on Sunday, August 25, at the Medieval Town Wall at Watergate – a celebration of our medieval heritage and our beautiful Walled Town of Fethard. Fethard Fancy Dress Parade first began in 1926, when over one thousand people travelled to the Carnival by train from Clonmel to Fethard, and a similar amount from the Thurles direction. This year’s parade will start at Fethard Ballroom at 2pm on Sunday, August 25. The parade will be led by the colourful, award-winning Banna Chluain Meala and their Majorettes. The Fancy Dress Parade will travel along Main Street to The Square, and then down by Watergate to the Medieval Town Wall Park where family entertainment will also be situated. This year's annual Fancy Dress Parade has over €500 in prizes, with €150 for the best historical themed entries. All the usual family friendly Festival Fare and Craft Stalls available by Fethard's Medieval Town Wall park at Watergate. Other events include the 'Wobbly Circus', a unique family-run circus company, based in Ireland, Puppet Show; lots of amusements, music, food and entertainment available. The site is fully wheelchair friendly with free admission to all.
