Since the beginning of 2021, the Town of Capdenac, has undertaken a work of memory around the Chapel of Massip and the heroism of Denise Bergon and Marguerite Roques. These two nuns of the convent of Massip decided at the beginning of the Second World War to answer the call of Bishop Saliège of Toulouse and to save Jewish children. In recognition of their courage, the sisters who hid and saved more than 80 Jewish children during the war were recognized as “Righteous among the Nations.”
