Go on a guided walk exploring Glasgow’s Forth and Clyde Canals, uncovering their role in the city’s evolution and rich heritage.
The Forth and Clyde Canal was opened in 1790, it granted a naval route for boats between the Firth of Clyde and the Firth of Forth at the narrowest part of the Scottish Lowlands.
The walk, by members of the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) Glasgow and West of Scotland Branch, will explain Glasgow’s heritage, from fishing and ferries to ship building and trade, railways, cars and today’s net Zero challenge.
