Four women, a doctor, an architect: intersecting destinies in the Great War (fully booked)

Overview

Architect Jean-Baptiste Dewin built several splendid Art Nouveau and Art Deco houses on Avenue Molière. This transition of styles can also be seen in the two clinics built for Doctor Depage just before and after the First World War. Alongside them, four women played a key and heroic role in the development of medicine adapted to the treatment of the war wounded, bringing a little humanity into a brutal world. Behind the beautiful facades, there are also the memories of Marie Depage, Edith Cavell, Marie Curie and Queen Elisabeth... which will be told to you. In collaboration with Bruxelles Bavard and the Cercle d'Histoire et d'Archéologie d'Uccle. With the support of the Municipality of Uccle.
