Archaeological researches(searches) led(driven) in Murviel-lès-Montpellier allowed to bring to light a rich archaeological material(equipment) today kept(preserved) in various places (archaeological Company(Society) of Montpellier, archaeological Deposit(Warehouse) of Slats, archaeological Deposit(Warehouse) of Murviel-lès-Montpellier). The local museum of archaeology and its deposit(warehouse) were inaugurated in 1960\\. They were created on the initiative of MM. JOSEPH MICHEL And PAUL SOYRIS. They were realised by the municipality of Murviel-lès-Montpellier with modest participations of State institutions. Shop windows(Showcases) present the resulting(coming) material(equipment), either the excavations(searches) realised on the municipality since 1950, or of gifts(donations) or acquisitions. The local archaeological deposit(warehouse), which is not open to the public, was done up by the municipality and equipped with the help of the Regional Cultural Affairs Directorate, the Regional Service(Department) of Archaeology, the goodwill(people of good will) of the members of the GRAHM, the archeologists of passage, the contractual staff of the city council allocated to heritage and the benefactors attached to heritage murviellois.

Opened in April, May, June and September on Sundays from 15 h till 18 h. In July from Tuesday till Friday from 14 h till 17 h and a Saturday and Sunday from 15 h till 18 h. In August, from Tuesday till Sunday from 15 h till 18 h
