Created in 864 by Charles le Chauve with the edict of Pitres, the Monnaie de Paris is the oldest institution in France and the oldest company in the world. Since 1775, the Parisian site of La Monnaie de Paris has been located at 11 quai de Conti, in the heart of the 6th arrondissement.
