The construction of the big(great) hall(market) of machine-wovens and the edification of the front-door of the Normalising company, thought "Door of Arieses", make left of a large programme of restructuring and of modernisation of the factory initiated by Benjamin Normant, following a fire. The big(great) hall(market), built in 1902, was conceived(designed) by the engineer Hennebique and realised by the Costing entrepreneur(contractor) and Cie. Of an area of about one hectare, this huge room contained more than 200 machine-wovens. Its architectural interest domiciles(resides) in its structure based on the premature application of system Hennebique. Entirely built concrete(watertight) armed(equipped), she adopts(accepts) a structure post, beam, lintel, floor. Kept(Preserved) after the closure(lock) of the factory Normant, then of the business company Matra, the building(ship) of machine-wovens and the door of Arieses were acquired(bought back) by the city of Romorantin. A large project of rehabilitation of the site is under way. The reopening in October, 2016 of the building(ship) of machine-wovens is a stage. Having called " The Factory " today, he receives cultural events as well as an architectural permanent exhibition of bricks and of ceramics called Céra' polishes up. Exhibits come from the collection of Michel Pasquier.
