Free visit of the village of Galey and discovery of its heritage
A small Ariège village of a hundred souls today, Galey and its three hamlets, Orchein, Escarchein and the Castle are attached at an altitude of 800 meters on the southern slope of the Cornudère peak in the valley of the Bellongue linking Castillon-en-Couserans at the mythical Portet d'Aspet pass. Facing the central chain of the Pyrenees, the municipality is located within the perimeter of the Regional Natural Park of the Ariège Pyrenees. The houses, barns and sheepfolds with their slate roofs give great homogeneity to the village. The remarkable buildings are of religious origin.
