A fun-filled afternoon for the family and a celebration of 20 years of heritage networking in Clondalkin. Where? Brú Chrónáin/The Round Tower Visitor Centre and gardens, Tower Road, Clondalkin and Áras Chrónáin/Cultural Centre, Orchard Road.

In summer 2004, Rally Round the Tower was established to galvanize community and public support for the idea of a heritage centre celebrating Clondalkin’s ancient Round Tower. Over 1,400 people came out on the street in support of the vision!

20 years later, and in-keeping with this year’s National Heritage Week theme of Connections, Routes and Networks, we invite you to celebrate the amazing heritage journey taken by the community since then in conjunction with South Dublin County Council.

Enjoy the fun celebration with FREE music, face-painting, memorabilia stalls and surprise special guests as well as prizes (in different categories) for best fancy-dress. Come dressed from any period in the thousand years of the history of the Round Tower, resurrect your campaign t-shirt or choose any style of dress to bring colour to this celebration of Clondalkin’s heritage. Take a FREE guided tour of either Áras Chrónáin or Brú Chrónáin. Explore the new exhibition MNÁ8 and enjoy the free entertainment. Chat with and learn more about Clondalkin’s numerous historical, cultural and environmental heritage organisations at their stalls and stands across both Brú Chrónáin/Round Tower Visitor Centre and Áras Chrónáin Ionad Cultúir/Cultural Centre.
