From the recent production of Macedonian documentary films
In this EHD edition we had a unique chance to see the latest ethnological documentaries produced by three museums in our country, as well as one film by Viktor Trajanovski.
Ethnologists in Macedonian museums employ painstaking efforts to continue the production of ethnological documentary films. This activity is an important link in the safeguarding of traditional cultural heritage, especially the intangible cultural manifestations and practices. In the last two years, museums produced three ethnological documentary films.
Vladimir Bocev, Ph.D.

There’s neither horn no hoof left, Vladimir Bocev, 26 min.
The film presents a specific trade of transportation of woods from the highlands of the Kozhuv Mountain by use of oxen. This profession has already been abandoned since young people are not interested in continuing this practice.
Soft soul for hard iron, Nadica Petkovic, 16 min.
The documentary gives an account of the ironsmiths’ craft, presenting several craftsmen working at the Kumanovo Bazaar. There are very few ironsmiths all over the country that still practice this trade nowadays.
Little bridges, Slavko Georgiev, 20 min.
The film is a re-enactment of the celebration of the feast of the Forty Holy Martyrs of Sebaste in the village of Oraovica near Radovish. It presents a tradition of young girls building little bridges over brooks, believing that they would see their future husband in their dream on that very night.
Zikr, Viktor Trajкоvski, 32 min.
The film presents performance of the dervish religious ritual in Skopje, prayers to Alah
