13 September 2025 (10:00 - 16:30) 14 September 2025 (10:00 - 16:30) Glenesk Folk Museum was founded in 1955, celebrating its 70th anniversary this year, by historian and local schoolteacher Margaret Fairweather Michie MBE, known as Greta. Greta wanted to capture a way of life fast disappearing and, with the support of the local community, gathered a remarkable collection of artefacts telling the story of Glenesk and the local area, which reaches out across rural Scotland and to ‘Glenners’ all over the world. Ahead of her time, Greta brought the past to life through dynamic living history displays, alongside craft and domestic demonstrations, and continues to be a source of inspiration. During Doors Open Days, drop in to the museum to see the displays and find out more about life in Glenesk. Booking is not required.
