Guided Walk: Stones, Hills and Geology around Bantry Bay
An introduction to the formation of the landscape of West Cork’s peninsulas and the bays in between, and to the rocks around Bantry town. The walk, which will be led by geoscientist Dr Ronan Hennessy (UCC), will start at St Finbarr’s Church, Bantry, and end on the coastal Beicín Walk. Ronan has worked on county geological heritage projects the length and breadth of Ireland and has published several books on geological heritage. The walk will be on pavements and other surfaced trails. Dress appropriately for the weather. Sorry, no dogs allowed. Free event.
