In an emblematic place of the city of Rennes, in the heart of the city At the beginning of this story, there is a big bourgeois house a little austere, still standing in front of the current rectorate. This is the old ladies' hotel. Before the 1944 bombing, there were apparently two houses and the scholar Paul Banéat, enumerator of all the old buildings in Rennes, had called them «hotels». The vagaries of time and the sad state in which is the one that remains make the dating exercise difficult, but the research of the Inventory makes it possible to understand that the building promised for an upcoming destruction dates from the 17th and 18th centuries.
