Overview

Typically Ardennes works and unique in France, these fortified houses were blockhouses disguised as a dwelling house with a floor. They were built from 1938 on the main axes of communication and at the obligatory crossing points. There are 22 in the department. These fortified houses marked the border with Belgium, a feature of the Maginot Line. Built as decoys, they were considered «alarm bells» in case of invasion, but also had a mission to control border crossings. Forgotten for more than 80 years, the Mogues MF21 is one of the links in the immense chain of our history, the one that has shaped our nation. The restoration of this place aims to get him out of the night to put him back in the light. Thanks to its geographical location, this place can be a showcase of the History of the Ardennes for visitors entering France ! Saving a witness of our history, even if it is so small in front of the work of the Hackenberg or the Castle-Fort of Sedan, is the idea a little crazy of historian
