Guided tour of the Billebaud Windmill in Saint-Clément-sur-Guye
Along the ridge road in the direction of Genouilly dit chemin des Moulins, north of the Croix Poulin, were built two windmills of which only the towers remain. The closest to the village, the windmill known as Billebaud Mill, named after its owner before 1910, had been in a precarious state for a long time. It was devastated by a fire in 1880 and saw its roof collapse in 1994, causing a large part of the building to fall. The Association de sauvegarde et de mise en valeur de Saint-Clément-sur-Guye then became the owner of the mill and a small area of land after having sought the opinion of the competent services of the Historical Monuments. They considered that a complete restoration should be planned because of the beauty of the site (with a remarkable view of Mont Saint-Vincent) and the scarcity of the last vestiges of windmills in Saône-et-Loire. The Heritage Foundation decided to support this restoration by launching a public subscription. A first phase of work was carried out in 2
