Overview

The Boschet wheat mill, attested in 1542, is an ordinary mill until the Revolution. Built entirely of wood, and following a fire, it was rebuilt in 1882 in its current form. At the beginning of the 20th century, it was transformed into a flour mill. In 1918, it produced 50 q of flour per day. The mill was sold in 1945 to the Desgués who still own it. An additional building was added in 1947 to house an engine. At the beginning of the 20th century, three cylinders replaced the original three wheels, while a turbine, mentioned in 1930, was substituted for the blade wheel. In 1957, the diesel engine was replaced by an electric motor. Most of the machines are still in place: four cylinders, a sorter, a round bluterie, a wheat brush, a wheat-epointer brush, a separator and two plansichters. In 1892, the mill employed a foreman, two workers and a labourer. The mill ceased its activity in 1980, it was the last mill in operation on the Rance.
Access
"Boschet" est l'orthographe ancienne du nom du moulin / Pour la localisation, le moulin est à cheval sur les 2 communes. Mais localement, comme il est très proche de Saint Suliac, dans l'esprit des gens, il est rattaché à cette commune.
