Overview

🏰 Château de Malleret: a heritage gem at the gates of Bordeaux

Classified Historical Monument, the castle of Malleret, its outbuildings and its park form an exceptional ensemble.

Located in the immediate vicinity of Bordeaux and the great classified vineyards of Graves de Pessac-Léognan, the estate offers superb views of the Garonne. Present since the 17th century, the castle was enlarged in the 19th century to accommodate the Emperor Napoleon III, who stayed there several times. Still inhabited by its owners, it is decorated with remarkable furniture. The park, remarkable for the presence of tall trees spanning several centuries, is home to a great diversity of gardens:
  • regular garden,
  • themed green rooms,
  • vegetable garden, orchard, rose garden,
  • basins, 'factories', topiaries,
  • chicken coop, white and blue peacocks... 🏅 The castle of Malleret has been selected by Sud Ouest among the most beautiful castles and gardens of Gironde.
