Live like a Roman!
At the entrance of the archaeological site of the domus of Cieutat, in the former station of Eauze, an interpretation center is now installed. It is an excellent starting point for a better understanding of the history of the three sites that make up the «ELUSA Ancient Capital» ensemble. The modern and innovative scenography offers several interactive tools, including a virtual re-enactment film. Between 2001 and 2012 excavations were carried out in Eauze in the heart of an archaeological reserve of about twenty hectares. They brought to light the remains of a domus, built in the third century of our era. Around the year 350, the owner would have decided to enlarge it: this is the time of the splendour of the building, which then reaches nearly 2,700 m². Slightly elevated from the streets, the house enjoys a prominent position in the aristocratic quarter in which it is inserted.
