Overview

Mansion, this house built in 1667 by Arnaud Duthoya, the first wine merchant of the Bordeaux region settled in Landerneau, testifies to the prosperity of the bourgeoisie of that time. The Duthoya, enriched by trade with the Royal Port of Brest, hold major municipal or social functions. Another illustrious owner, privateer captain Barthélémy Kerroz became Landerneau’s main merchant shipowner in the last third of the 18th century. Very active, its financial success is revealed in an important real estate heritage. During the Revolution, he became the richest bourgeois in Lander, sitting in municipal assemblies for thirty years. The building is listed as a historic monument.
