Guided tour of the Ecosite of Saint-Palais (18)
Discover the Ecosite of Saint-Palais,
a player in the economic dynamics and ecological transformation of the Cher territory
On the occasion of the European Heritage Days, the Ecosite of Saint-Palais (18) opens its doors on Saturday, September 20, 2025. Come and discover the behind-the-scenes of a site dedicated to recycling, waste recovery and renewable energy production!
Since its creation in 1997, the site has constantly evolved to make waste a real resource. Today, it extends over 31 hectares and hosts several facilities:
🔹a composting platform, for the production of compost from organic waste,
🔹of the inert and sand platforms, with the transformation of rubble and sweeping sands into embankments and road materials,
🔹 green energy production poles, in the form of electricity and biomethane.
🔹 the ISDND (Non-hazardous Waste Storage Facility), the historic heart of the site.
With more than 110,000 tonnes of waste treated per year, 60% of which comes from the Cher region, the Ecosite plays a central role in the local ecological transition.
Whether you are curious, committed to the environment, a local or simply eager to learn more about waste management, this visit is for you!
A unique opportunity to discover a site rarely accessible to the public.
