Guided tour of the Hotel d'Aumont
Built according to the plans of Le Vau in the 17th century (1644-1648) for Michel-Antoine Scarron, king’s advisor, the hotel was occupied from the end of its construction by the duke of Aumont, who entrusted François Mansart with expanding and transforming the main building, starting from 1656. The interior rooms are then decorated with works painted by Simon Vouet and Le Brun. Only the salon Le Brun remains occupied today by the reading room of the library of the administrative court of Paris. In the 18th and 19th centuries, several owners succeeded each other, undertaking numerous renovations. In 1938, the Hôtel d'Aumont was bought by the City of Paris who restored it. The administrative court moved there in 1959.
