The Val d'Isère Academy exceptionally opens the doors of its archives and its Museum of History and Archaeology labeled Museum of France on the occasion of the European Heritage Days. We propose to the public to come discover with the members of the association the history of this Savoyard Learned Society founded in 1865 and to evoke the creation of our museum voluntarily imagined as a true "cabinet of curiosities". From Prehistory to the contemporary era, visitors will have the opportunity to observe the first archaeological elements discovered in the valley in the 18th and 19th centuries, as well as the very rich history of Moûtiers, administrative capital of the Valley from antiquity to the present day.
