Guided tour of the church Saint-Jean-Baptiste de Viuz-Faverges
The church of Saint-Jean-Baptiste de Viuz-Faverges is a religious building whose history dates back to the early Christian era: the remains of a Roman building from the first century and three churches from the sixth century, from around the year 800 and around the year 1000 are visible in the archaeological crypt. The current building is composed of a Romanesque choir from the 12th century adorned with green molasse capitals decorated with water flowers and baroque stalls from 1696. The baptismal fonts also date from the 17th century, as for the nave and the aisles, they are in neoclassical style. Our Guides du Patrimoine de Savoie Mont-Blanc will raise public awareness of the need for restoration of the building and highlighting its furniture. The church is accessible to people with reduced mobility, but not the archaeological crypt. Accessibility
