Guided tour of the crystallization site of the remains of Castellas
The site of crystallization of the remains of the Castellas de Roquemartine will be exceptionally open to the public Sunday, September 22, 2024 at 2pm, for a guided tour led by Nicolas Faucherre, Professor emeritus of archaeology and medieval history of the University of Aix-Marseille. The Castellas de Roquemartine, also called Château de la Reine Jeanne and located in Eyguières (13430) is the emblematic regional site selected in 2022 by the Heritage Mission led by Stéphane BERN and deployed by the Heritage Foundation, the FDJ group (French Games) and the Ministry of Culture. The current project benefits from the financial support of the Loto du Patrimoine, the DRAC, the Conseil Départemental des Bouches-du-Rhône and the Fondation pour la Sauvegarde de l'Art Français. It will end at the end of 2025, with the restoration of the stone cover of the church below the castle, the church of Saint-Sauveur. Come many for this exceptional visit!
