Participatory event of the UNESCO candidacy project "Rhône des côtes"
Created in 1850, the Museum of Valencia(Valence) is installed(settled) since 1911 in the old(former) episcopal palace, at the heart of the city centre. Only museum of Fine Arts in the Drôme and a part of first five museums of the region Rhône-Alpes, it offers a space of exhibition(exposure) of 5750 m ², 35 halls of permanent exhibition(exposure), an exceptional prospect(perspective) to 360 ° on the valley of the Rhône, the Ardèche and Vercors and collections rich in more than 20 000 works offering a panorama of the history(story) of the man and of arts, of the regional prehistory in contemporary art. Among exposed(explained) works represent an exceptional collection of paintings(paints) and drawings of Hubert Robert (1733-1808), who is the third collection in world with those of the Louvre museum in Paris and of the Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg. After important renovation work and works of extension, the Museum opened again its doors in December, 2013\\.
