Overview

The church was built in 1909, in the thermal park, near the Protestant temple, at the initiative of the Grand Duchess Wladimir, wife of the uncle of the last tsar of Russia. She wanted to thank the Vosgians for their welcome during her cures, to make a place of worship for her fellow patients and, also, to dedicate it to the memory of her husband the Grand Duke Vladimir Alexandrovich who died in 1909\\. First a curist, then a refugee here during the Bolshevik Revolution of 1917, she was buried there in 1920, along with her third son, the Grand Duke Boris Vladimirovitch in 1943\\. The bell is separated from the building. Inside, the dome is supported by painted cast iron columns, imitating copper and enhanced with cabochons imitating turquoise stone. On the left side, the white marble cenotaph is placed on the vault where the coffin of the Grand Duchess Maria Pavlovna is buried. It should be noted that many Russians took refuge in the Vosges. If the Grand Duke Boris rests near his mother
