Overview
Château de Morsang-sur-Orge was built from 1740 onwards by Pierre Durey d'Harnoncourt, one of the richest farmers-general. He bought the seigneury of Morsang-sur-Orge in 1739, before those of Villemoisson-sur-Orge and Sainte-Geneviève-des-Bois in 1743. A veritable architectural gem, it is home to a number of different facilities, including the Niki de Saint-Phalle Fine Arts Workshops, the Conservatoire, the Louis Aragon Media Library and a Micro-Folie, making it one of the region's leading cultural centres.
