Overview

The Harcourt Street Line, which opened in 1854, was the catalyst for the development of Foxrock and Foxrock station was one of the most important on the line. A permanent photographic exhibition showing what the station looked like, the steam, diesel and battery trains which ran on it, as well as its link with Nobel Laureate Samuel Beckett, will open in Foxrock Village car park (site of the station) on Wednesday 21st August. This is a FACE project in association with Foxrock Local History Club. It is co-funded by DLRCoCo and sponsored by Leopardstown Racecourse. Many of the images have been provided by the Railway Preservation Society of Ireland. A free illustrated talk about the Harcourt Street Line will be given by well-known local historian Cathy Scuffil in Foxrock Golf Club, Torquay Road on Monday 19th August at 7.30pm.
