Overview

The Caen racecourse was one of the first French racetracks intended only for trotters. Created in 1839 after hosting its first prairie races in 1837 and 1838, it was converted in 1845, before being completely renovated in 1970. The racecourse hosts about thirty horse meetings and fifty qualifying events per year, and is the preferred training ground for the many farmers in the region because of the quality of its environment and its exceptionally long track of more than 1,900 m.
