In the footsteps of Georges Méliès
If we told you that cinema was born in Montreuil? Well, that’s partly true since it is here that Georges Méliès, inventor of special effects and pioneer of fiction in cinema, created the very first film studio in the world and made more than 500 films. You will rediscover the city with him, from the cinema "Le Méliès" to the location of its studios today disappeared, while paying tribute to other figures of Montreuil cinema such as Emile Reynaud, the inventor of the cartoon, and the directors of the Pathé-Albatros Studios. Finally, we will see that Montreuil is still a land of filming with many films today: The First Day of the rest of your life, Emotives Anonymous, The aquatic effect, Lupin, etc. This dive into the origins of cinema will be illustrated of course by photos and extracts on tablet thanks to Juliette Dubois, creative guide of the concept of Ciné-Balade in 2011.
