This city is the first Castor City in France. It has obtained the labels «Heritage of the twentieth century» and «Remarkable contemporary architecture». It was founded in 1948, in the midst of a housing crisis, by 150 young couples. As precursors, they decided from the beginning to put in nursery, even before the end of the construction, the trees and plants that were to decorate their streets and their hedges.
