Vargoz: how did this heritage place become a cultural place?
Château Vargoz is a 19th century bourgeois property that belonged successively to the Lamotte, Gautier, Gély and Ollié-Mignard families acquired by the municipality from Jean Vargoz and Berthe Espinadel. Its vocation was originally to host the Girl School of the village and subsequently the leisure center and associations. The municipality has chosen to transform this aging heritage into a space dedicated to welcoming artists and showcasing contemporary art. This place has been opened and designed to foster the reception and work of artists on our territory and to create the space for the meeting between different artistic disciplines. It is for Sérignan the opportunity at the heart of its heritage to offer quality cultural events. The ambition of the municipality is to open Sérignan to art in all these forms but also to open it to the world by sharing and exchanging residencies with international artists through institutional or private networks.
