Overview

Kick testing in the Greagagh River in Clashmore involves agitating the river bed to expose the various invertebrates and catching them in a small net just downstream. This is then emptied into a shallow tray of water so the creatures can be seen clearly. This is engaging for children of all ages as the various creatures that live in the gravel of the riverbed can be clearly seen in the sample tray. In addition there will be plenty of time to draw and paint all the life in the river in the outdoor classroom at Mochua's Well and enjoy a barbecue while being entertained by Clashmore Youth Traditional Musicians.
Parking is available in the village of Clashmore and then follow the river path to the outdoor classroom at Mochua's Well.
