What are frančezarije (translator note: it is a name used for the translations and adjustments of Molière's comedies in Dubrovnik at the end of the 17th and the first half of the 18th century, as well as for the other forms of adoption of the French culture and art in the Dubrovnik literature) and is this phenomenon unique in the European literal and cultural context? Can the term frančezarije be reduced only to the adaptation of the Molière’s comedies or does it have a broader impact? What are the features of the language used in frančezarije and why are they such a good source to research the history of the Dubrovnik idioms?
