Dragutin Lerman (1863 - 1918) is one of the most famous Croatian explorers of the African continent who left behind invaluable expedition diaries and objects of African culture. His valuable legacy testifies to his personal experience of the people, culture and space of the former Belgian colony of Congo. On the occasion of the 160th anniversary of his birth, we recall the unique and rich anthropological and ethnological cultural heritage of the African peoples that he brought from Africa to his homeland.
