The Association pour la Défense du Site d'Ermenonville (A.D.S.E) offers a guided tour of the village Lavoir, set in atmosphere by the association. RV at 3pm on the bridge overlooking the wash house for a 'Radio-wash"which will tell the story of the wash-houses in general, and that of Ermenonville in particular. The wash-houses of the past, humble places still rustling with the beatings and laughter of the washers, take us back to a time when the washing machine did not exist. Plunge your hands into the "Buée" is to lift the veil on the history of laundry, to touch with the tip of the finger the history of women of another era!
