The castle of the Grand-Pressigny, powerful defensive fortress in the eleventh century then imposing residential homes in the Renaissance, houses a museum of Prehistory entirely restructured, considerably enlarged and enriched since 2009\\. The collections present the life and material equipment of men in Touraine, between 100,000 and 1,000 years before our era. They place particular emphasis on Grand-Pressigny flint in its geological, technical, economic and social dimensions. The Pressignian phenomenon of the end of the Neolithic, in the 3rd millennium, occupies a place of choice, with, for the first time, the presentation of the spectacular deposit of the Creusette, methods of cutting the long flint blades, the European diffusion of these masterpieces the size of flint and the projection of a film tracing the manufacture of large flint blades.
