Leith Hall was originally built as a traditional Scottish tower house. It has been added to by successive generations of the Leith-Hay family with the last additions being completed in 1906. It has been in the care of the National Trust for Scotland since 1945.
The Doors Open Days Tour will complement the normal guided tour and will focus on Leith Hall architectural history and the changing shape of the house across the different Lairds’ tenure. In addition visitors can understand the Jacobite symbolism within Leith Hall, by looking at how the history of this period can be told through the stories of the people that lived here, how it is expressed in the architecture of the hall, and how it has shaped the hall today.
Visitors to Doors Open Days Event can access the venue between 10.30am and 3.30pm and should note that the Hall is open as usual to the general public.
Organised tour times are 11am and 2pm. Booking is required for these.
