* The spinning mill of Ligugé, former industrial jewel of the Vienne - The former Ligugé spinning mill was propelled to 2nd place in Vienna, behind the Châtellerault Arms Factory, thanks to the explosion of the textile market in the second half of the 19th century. If it resisted the world wars, the collapse of the textile industry in 1950 required a partial reconversion. A production unit for yogurt jars made of paraffin cardboard maintained the activity until the early 1970s. Following the bankruptcy in 1976, then the final abandonment of the site in 1982, there followed 30 years of industrial wasteland during which the site becomes dangerous due to lack of maintenance. When the community contemplated a complete demolition, the owners issued a final call in 2007 for who could save the mill.
