Although today it seems unquestionable to us, teaching as a method is a relatively modern concept. Rather, it was something only within the reach of large families. This is why there are few
references to "masters of first letters" in the 1825 Orozko, date to which we will travel.

Due to its variety, we will focus on the main neighbourhood, Zubiaur, and we will go through its streets and houses making a thorough review of each one of the trades of almost 200 years ago. Military men, scribes, forgers, Shoemakers and teachers, among others, will accompany us on the tour of
the main monuments of the place.
