Overview

Halfway between the Pompidou Centre and the Carnavalet Museum, the National Archives Museum has a permanent display of outstanding documents from the National Archives, as well as temporary exhibitions. Throughout the year, the National Archives offers a rich programme of events, taking part in numerous activities organised by the Ministry of Culture and Communication, the City of Paris and the Plaine Commune area: European Heritage Days, European Museum Night, Nuit blanche, Fête de la musique, Patrimoine caché, Festival Nomades, Festival Métis, etc. Concerts organised by the museum itself are also scheduled: the Jeunes talents concerts, the Concert des amateurs, the midis baroques and the Piano du prince. The Hôtel de Soubise, which houses the Archives nationales, and its neighbour, the Hôtel de Rohan, are among the finest private mansions in the Marais, with salons decorated by Germain Boffrand and paintings by Boucher, Van Loo and Trémolières.
