This two part event at McSwyne's Castle, will start with Natalie Lough and Laura providing some history of names in the area and music, with the beautiful backdrop of Bruckless Bay.

We then invite the Discovery Project to give a talk on "Our Fallen Castle".

At 2pm. Natalie has carried out research into the place names across our area, giving insight to our local history and stories. Join her for a talk supported by Laura, a great musician who was much loved over the Killaghtee Festival 2022 weekend.

Then at 3:30. We all know that our local castle will be reclaimed by the sea at some point over the next four decades. The Discovery programme are carrying out a project in the area, to understand more about erosion and its effects. They are also looking at what is being uncovered and what this tells us about our history.

Guest speakers include Kate Robb (Archaeologist for Donegal County Council) and Judith McCarthy (County Museum) .

​​The event will move into Dunkineely Community Centre in the event of bad weather.
