Migrant Voice at Edward House
18 September 2025 (16:00 - 20:00) Join us at Edward House, 199 Sauchiehall Street, from 4:00pm-8:00pm on Thursday 18th September for a special evening! Come and visit our human Library and hear refugee stories first-hand. You're in for an inspiring evening as refugee women from Afghanistan, Iran, Ukraine, and Yemen share moving short stories they’ve written and illustrated. Drop in before or after the reading to meet local refugees for a one-on-one conversation and hear more about their unique perspectives. Hosted by Migrant Voice. Stories were produced in collaboration with the University of Glasgow. Proud to be part of the Glasgow Doors Open Days Festival. ‘Ye awright, pal?’ exhibition is coming to the heart of Glasgow! This exhibition will be on show from 18th September until 30th October at Edward House on Sauchiehall Street. Ye awright, pal? is part of the Putting Ourselves in the Picture project, made possible with the National Lottery Heritage Fund. Featuring 200 drawings by over 100 migrants in Scotland, this immersive exhibition captures the highs and lows of the migrant experience — from culture shock to community spirit, challenges to hopes. You’re invited to draw, share your story, and take home a keepsake. Overview We’re a migrant-led organisation that amplifies migrant voices in the media and public debate through training, exhibitions, publications, and campaigns. We strive to create a society where migrants have full equality and achieve positive change for migrants – countering racism and xenophobia, discrimination and unjust policies, bringing communities together and bringing social justice – change which benefits the whole of UK society. To achieve this, migrants need to build collective power and influence, ensure our rights are protected and have a seat at the decision-making table to set the agenda on migration. The toilet can be used in emergency. General public can use toilet facilities in neighbouring businesses and organisations.
