As a result of a very successful Canal Festival in 2023, we are running another Canal Festival on Sunday the 25th of August 2024 starting at 12pm to 5pm.
The theme this year will be “Routes” ; Modes of Transport.
Back in 1821 horse drawn passage boats travelled from Dublin to Milltown and passengers transferred to horse and carriage for the onward journey to the Curragh Races.
This year we are running boat trips from Milltown to the famous Fen. Our festival will include a family fun day with paddleboarding, bouncing castles, music for young and old, art display by local artists, face painting, rings, Irish wolfhounds, wool weaving and old local photo display.
