Monkstown is essentially a Victorian village, growing in size with the coming of the railway and the construction of the harbour at Dún Laoghaire. On this walk you will see wonderful examples of skilled masonry and ironwork; hear about famous residents; the history of the places of worship in Monkstown; evidence of Famine relief; Monkstown’s hidden stream; the original Juggy’s Well and learn why much of Monkstown is named after two aristocratic families. The walk will have limited spaces. We will share a link for registration in early August. We will send a confirmation of booking. Children should be accompanied by a parent / guardian.
