The Cultural Quarter is a partnership with Elgin Town Hall for the Community, the Grant Lodge Trust, our network of stakeholders, supporters and the wider community. Phase 1 is Elgin Town Hall. Elgin Town Hall is undergoing a major refurbishment which will make the building fully accessible, improve circulation and acoustic separation between spaces, create new performance spaces, a new bar, rehearsal/practice room and vastly enhance the overall visitor experience. Elgin Town Hall works are due to start on site before the end of 2025. Phase 2 is Grant Lodge. Moray Council and our partners are making plans to bring Grant Lodge back into use into use as a thriving heritage, tourism, and events hub for the community of Moray. The carefully restored heritage venue will provide a range of fully accessible, flexible, elegant spaces including ‘interactive’ welcome room, café/bar, gallery, exhibition, retail, events spaces. It is hoped that this project will start in 2027 following further fundraising and work with the community of supporters. Grant Lodge has been out of use for 20 years and we are getting ready to start building works at Elgin Town Hall so please wear sensible shoes / suitable clothes (it might be a bit dusty). For Grant Lodge hard hats will be provided.
