The National Library of Scotland’s Causewayside Building is an iconic piece of modern architecture. It provides safe storage for the Library’s collections and supports a wide range of activities by library staff including processing new material, digitising collections, conservation and access to the Library’s map collections.
Guided tours of the building at 12:00. 13:15. 14:30 and 15:45.

2025 Theme - Architectural Heritage: Windows to the Past, Doors to the Future
We will have a display on the architectural heritage of Edinburgh, in particular the Newington area where the National Library of Scotland’s Causewayside Building is located. Including architectural plans of our building.
