13 September 2025 (13:00 - 16:00) 14 September 2025 (13:00 - 16:00) New Monkland is a parish church and has been in situ for 385 years in the village of Glenmavis. Often referred to as the Auld Grey Kirk on the Hill, this historical building has a covenanter background is a B listed building with a bell tower that is A listed. The church is attractive and has 13 beautiful stained-glass windows by renowned artists. The church plays an important role in the life of the village. For Doors Open Days visitors have an opportunity to view the church and learn about its history through presentations, the stained-glass windows and the architecture. Visitors are also welcome to attend the thanksgiving service at 6pm on Sunday 14th from 6pm-7pm. Led by the previous Moderator of the Church of Scotland and with singing led by the New Monkland Community Songsters. Visitors are also welcome to attend the regular Sunday Service at 10am. Only ground floor is wheelchair accessible.
